Hot Potatoes

About this Series

1 Corinthians
This is a series looking at one of the Apostle Paul’s longest letters. Corinth is in modern-day Greece and was a thriving commercial centre due to its proximity to the sea. As a church it certainly had its problems. But then what church doesn’t have problems?

1 Corinthians 7:36-40 | Mike McNamarra |

Today we bring our 1 Corinthian series to an end for this year. We will resume with 1 Cor 8 in 2014. Chapters 5-7 have been looking at a series of relationship issues – some good and some not so good – that affected the Corinthian Church. Essentially the Apostle Paul is teaching Christians that what we do in our relationships matters to God and is a witness to the world. Two key verses in these passages are 1 Cor 6:20 that we are to "honour God with our body" and 1 Cor 7:35 that we "live in a right way in undivided devotion to the Lord."
