New Wine Conference Sep 16-17 |
New Wine is an international network that began at St Andrew’s, Chorleywood (an Anglican church in the UK) in the 80s under the leadership of Bishop David Pytches. David was greatly influenced by John Wimber at the time and so right from the early days there has been fellowship between New Wine and the Vineyard. New Wine gave birth to Soul Survivor in 1993. The vision of New Wine is “To see the nation changed through Christians experiencing the joy of worshipping God, the freedom of following Jesus, and the power of being filled with the Spirit. To see churches renewed, strengthened and planted, living out the word of God in every aspect of life, serving God by reaching the lost, broken and poor, and demonstrating the good news of the Kingdom of God to all.” Rev Rob Carter (former vicar of St Alfred's) is exploring establishing a New Wine network in Melbourne and this conference began as part of that exploration. |
