Welcome to our new website PDF Print E-mail

open sign image It has been a bit of a journey for a number of faithful contributors - but today (13 July 2010) marks the launch of this new website for St Alfred's Anglican Church. All of us are excited about the possibilities and potential our new site offers. For people visiting our site looking for information we have tried to put the key items either one click or one menu item away. We have implemented a brand new sermon management function and also iTunes syndication; not only can you listen to and download sermons directly from our website - but you can now also go to our new Audio Channel on iTunes and subscribe to new sermons as they are posted (press the big headphones button on the front page to go to iTunes). In fact, in many places across the site you will find RSS feed links that allow you to subscribe to changes and updates for that particular function. Also integrated into the site is a new calendar and event booking system that we will use to track event registrations. We have some financial and risk management processes to sort through first but we hope to soon allow online payments for events.

For now we only have landing pages for our ministry areas on the site; currently we have over 60 Ministry areas and will be working with each person who oversees each ministry area to create warm, inviting and informational web pages. Make sure to check out the new staff profiles page and find out more about our staff team including an updated listing of the sermons they preached. Sign up for the Don Carson seminar in August or find out about the Sons of Korah concert coming up soon.

There are many other new features and functions waiting for you to discover. Among the web team this site is being affectionately called the 1.0 site because we have lots of plans for new and exciting features we will release over time. Look out soon for a new prayer request function, some user interface improvements, new RSS feeds and a raft of other changes.

Your feedback is also very important to us - we want to hear what you have to say. If you would like to suggest something new for the site, provide feedback on something that doesn't work or would like to praise the team for their hard work - please feel free to do so by clicking the 'Feedback' links on the page. In time we will integrate a more sophisticated feedback capability but for now your feedback will be emailed directly through to our Webmaster.

We hope you like the website and look forward with anticipation to see how God will continue to grow it and develop the way we use it to serve him.

To God be the glory.
