OPEN MIC AT ST ALFRED’S!

7:00-9:30 FRIDAY 19^th AUGUST, 2011

On Friday, 19^th August, you are invited to spend the evening enjoying a variety of performances presented by the youth of St Alfred’s. It will certainly be a night of fantastic entertainment for young and old, friends and family, and all members of Saint Alfred’s.

Cost is $10 per head and $25 for the family. Please bring along a small dessert for everyone to share and enjoy.

If you want to present an act on the night, please contact either email Kieran Carr or Amy Messer at the Church Office by August 12^th at the latest. We apologise in advance if the number of performing slots is already full by the time you apply.

Each individual can participate in a maximum of two performances.

THIS IS A MISSION FUNDRAISER!

We believe that young people have a significant role to play in God’s mission in the world, which is why this night raises support for young people in overseas mission. Find out more on the night.

Get excited as we gear up for this year’s youth camp! You can expect heaps of fun stuff, including wide games, group activities, and plenty of free time, plus we’ll be looking at 1 Corinthians 12-14 on The Body of Christ.

Pulse is a program for teenagers every 2^nd Friday during school term at St Alfred’s (cnr Koonung & Springfield Rds).

It runs from 7-9:30pm and costs $2 unless otherwise specified.

During 2010 we began thinking about the future of St Alfred's. We have talked and prayed and written ideas, we've done surveys, read demographics and talked and prayed further. The Mission Action Plan is the result. It articulates some big aims that we believe God is directing us towards over the coming years 2011-2015.

It has been a bit of a journey for a number of faithful contributors - but today (13 July 2010) marks the launch of this new website for St Alfred's Anglican Church. All of us are excited about the possibilities and potential our new site offers. For people visiting our site looking for information we have tried to put the key items either one click or one menu item away. We have implemented a brand new sermon management function and also iTunes syndication; not only can you listen to and download sermons directly from our website - but you can now also go to our new Audio Channel on iTunes and subscribe to new sermons as they are posted (press the big headphones button on the front page to go to iTunes). In fact, in many places across the site you will find RSS feed links that allow you to subscribe to changes and updates for that particular function. Also integrated into the site is a new calendar and event booking system that we will use to track event registrations. We have some financial and risk management processes to sort through first but we hope to soon allow online payments for events.
