Connect 50 PDF Print E-mail

Connect50 is a practical, hands-on way of celebrating St Alfred's 50th birthday in North Blackburn.

This wonderful milestone is a great opportunity for us to stop, take a step back, and see where we can give back to the community which has welcomed us and been our spiritual home for half a century.

Whether you are time-poor, time-rich or somewhere in between, we hope that the following pages inspire you to connect and dedicate some of your precious time to growing your 'servant's heart' throughout 2012.

Connect50 is designed to provide service opportunities for everyone. There are several programs organized throughout the year, and involvement is as easy as signing up or contacting the organizer.

Additionally, there are plenty of ideas which need a champion to see them through. Some of these are listed in this book.

Take up one or more of these ideas – or propose and develop your own service-oriented activity!

Just let Susan or Kathryn know. We may also be able to provide you with practical support or assistance.

Many of the Connect50 opportunities are perfectly suited for growth group involvement. If you are involved in a growth group, please consider taking on at least one service opportunity in 2012.

Questions, suggestions, and offers to champion an idea should be directed to either Susan Maury or Kathryn Naylor, at connect50@stalfreds.org

A message from Michael Webb, coordinator of Dinner Tonite, following our first night of serving on Saturday 10th March:

My very great thanks to you and the team on Sat night. I hope the team enjoyed their work and I would be grateful if you would pass on our thanks. It is a joy to serve our Lord and others and I know that we grow closer to him and each other through this service.

The team did a wonderful job on set up. They were eager and enthusiastic. They enjoyed their night of service and there was lots of fun and laughter as we cleaned up together. They were inspired by the experience.
